Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" in the header and choose your preferred method: phone number, Google, or Facebook. Verify your phone number to start posting ads.
How do I post my first ad?
Click the "Post Ad" button, select your category, fill in the details (title, price, description, location), upload photos, and publish. Your first listing is free!
What categories can I list in?
We support multiple categories including Vehicles, Property, Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Jobs, Services, and more. Each category has specific subcategories to help buyers find your items.
Pricing & Plans
Is BUY n SELL free to use?
Yes! We offer a FREE tier that lets you post listings at no cost. Perfect for casual sellers who want to list a few items without any subscription fees.
What does the FREE tier include?
The FREE tier includes: Limited listings per category (2-10 depending on category), manual refresh capability, community support, and access to all basic features. No credit card required!
What are the paid plans?
We offer three paid tiers: BASIC (from UGX 9,900/month), PREMIUM (from UGX 24,900/month), and ULTIMATE (from UGX 599,900/month). Each tier offers more listings, auto-refresh, TOP+ promotions, cashback, and premium features like analytics, priority support, and AI message assistant.
Do you charge commission on sales?
No! We never take a commission on your sales. You keep 100% of what you earn. We only charge optional subscription fees for premium features.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, you can change your plan anytime from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades apply at the end of your current billing cycle.
Selling Items
How do I make my listing stand out?
Use high-quality photos (up to 10 images), write detailed descriptions, set competitive prices, and consider upgrading to a paid plan for auto-refresh and TOP+ promotions that boost visibility.
How long does my ad stay active?
Ads remain active until you mark them as sold or inactive. Free tier listings require manual refresh, while paid plans offer automatic refresh every few hours to keep your ads at the top.
Can I edit my listing after posting?
Yes! Go to your dashboard, find the listing, and click "Edit" to update photos, price, description, or any other details.
What happens when my item sells?
Mark your listing as "Sold" or "Closed" from your dashboard. This removes it from search results and lets interested buyers know it's no longer available.
Buying Items
How do I contact a seller?
Click on any listing and use the "Chat" button to message the seller directly. You can also call or WhatsApp them if they've provided contact details.
How do payments work?
BUY n SELL is a listing platform only - we DO NOT process payments. All transactions happen directly between buyer and seller, typically in person with cash or mobile money.
Is it safe to buy on BUY n SELL?
Always meet in public places, inspect items before paying, and never send money before seeing the item. See our Safety Tips page for detailed guidelines.
Can I save listings to view later?
Yes! Click the bookmark icon on any listing to save it to your favorites. Access saved items from your profile.
Safety & Security
How do I avoid scams?
Meet in public places, inspect items before paying, never pay online or via wire transfer, and trust your instincts. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
What if I encounter a scammer?
Report the user immediately using the "Report" button on their profile or listing. Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.
Does BUY n SELL verify sellers?
We verify phone numbers and offer a "Verified" badge for trusted sellers. However, always exercise caution and follow safety guidelines when meeting anyone.
What information should I never share?
Never share your bank details, OTPs, passwords, or credit card information. BUY n SELL will never ask for payment details or process transactions on your behalf.
Account Management
How do I verify my phone number?
Go to Settings and click "Verify Phone Number". Enter your number, receive an SMS code, and enter it to complete verification. This helps build trust with buyers.
Can I change my contact information?
Yes! Go to your Dashboard, scroll to "Account Contact" section, and click "Edit Listing Contact" to update your WhatsApp or phone number.
How do I delete my account?
Contact our support team to request account deletion. Note that this action is permanent and will remove all your listings and data.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password via email or SMS.
